Are you familiar with any of the 3 masterpieces we are featuring on our first release?

Quentin : From the 3 masterpieces, I am mostly familiar with Ghost In The Shell. Probably because it has been the most popular one in France.

If so, could you share any personal episodes related to that masterpiece?

Quentin : The movie came out in 1997 in France.  I was about 7 years old and I remember being very intrigued by GITS. To me, it was strange to have an animated movie that was as realistic and detailed as this.

I felt like I was watching a movie that they turned into drawings. It was very different from the classic animation I was used to.

What kind of an impact did it have on you?

Quentin : The aesthetic of the 1995 movie and later the live action film has been a big creative stimulus. In 2017, I even created a music video for the music producer « Josh Pan » that was strongly inspired by the codes and the visual language of GITS.

Could you tell us your favorite masterpiece?

Quentin : In a totally different style, « The Tree Of Life » by Terrence Malick is in one of my favorite movie of all time. It somehow confronts the smallness of mankind with the majesty of the universe. More recently, I have also been mind blown by Christopher Nolan’s « Interstellar »

What’s your definition of a “Masterpiece”?

Quentin : It is hard to define it with words. To me, it has to trigger something inside you. An emotion, a feeling that you can hardly explain.

What is your opinion of how the younger generation are consuming media contents today ?

Quentin : I love how everything is more accessible nowadays. Any kid with an internet connection can learn how to code, produce music, shoot…

The only downside is that we are drowned in a flow of content that is not always interesting or stimulating.
